<br />The soils in this group comprises approximately 14% of the total acreage in <br />the area served by Mountain Home Reservoir <br /> <br />3) Soil Type III - very deep, well drained loamy soils more than 20 <br />inches deep over gravel with moderate to low available water capacity. <br />Permeability is mOderately rapid (2,0 to 6.0 in/hr), Available water <br />capacity is moderate (0.08 to 0.13 in/in of soil or 5 to 7.5 inches per 5- <br />foot soil profile) to 10w (0,6 to 0.08 in/in of soil or 3.5 to 5 inches per 5- <br />foot soil profile). <br /> <br />Soils in this group are in the Land Capability Subclass IIIe and IVe when <br />irrigated. Soil blowing is a major management problem, <br /> <br />The soils in this group comprises approximately 34% of the total acreage in <br />the area served by Mountain Home Reservoir <br /> <br />4) Soil Type IV - very deep, excessively drained and well drained sandy <br />and gravelly loamy soils, more than 10 inches deep over gravel with very <br />10w to 10w available water capacity. Permeability ranges from moderate <br />(0.6 to 2.0 in/hr) to rapid (6.0 to 20.0 in/hr) but is mostly rapid (2.0 to <br />6.0 In/hr). Available water capacity is very low (less than 0.06 In/in of <br />soil or less than 3.5 inches per 5-foot soil pronle) to low (0.06 to 0.08 <br />in/In of soil or 3.5 to 5 inches per 5-foot soil profile). <br /> <br />Soils in this group are in the Land Capability Subclass IIIe and IVe when <br />irrigated. Soil blowlng is a major management problem, <br /> <br />The soils in this group comprises approximately 30% of the total acreage in <br />the area served by Mountain Home Reservoir <br /> <br />B. Service Area Map. Figure III-I is a map showing the approximate limits of <br />the area served by The Trinchera Irrigation Company. The areas shaded in blue <br />on the map highlights the area irrigated from all water sources in the district. <br />The area shown which is irrigated from Mountain Home Reservoir is generally that <br />area to the east of Smith Reservoir, More specifically the area shown which lies <br />below the Trinchera Canal, the Garland Canal, and the Highline Canal are <br />supplied from Mountain Home Reservoir. The remainder of the area served by the <br />company is from water rights in Smith Reservoir and the various creeks shown. <br /> <br />The total acreage irrigated by the Trinchera Irrigation Company Is approximateiy I <br />14,100 acres almost all of which can receive water from Mountain Home Reservoir <br />through a complex series of canals and ditches. <br /> <br />C. Land Use. <br /> <br />1. Present.
