TASK DESCRIPTION - Continued

11. East Paradox Topographic Mapping - A strip approximately 1,000 feet wide

along the proposed route of the East Paradox supply canal will be mapped

photogrammetrically at a scale of I" c 500' horizontally and with a 10 foot

contour interval vertically.

12. Obtain any Additional Required Field Information - For example, typical

cross-sections of ca&al routes at critical locations, major siphon

profiles, profiles alcng proposed dam axes. (Parts of this item will be

coordinated with geologic investigation).

13. Develop Project Plan cf Operation - Each sub-system should be considered as

a unit, but coordinated ~~th other units. Reservoirs will be operated over

a period including wet and dry years. Sizes of reservoirs and canals will

be adjusted to maximize use of water available but will not be over sized.

Probably several computer runs will be required to obtain a reasonable

configuration.

14. Determine Probable Maxinum Flood (PMF) and Spillway Design Flood for Each
Reservoir Site - Since most proposed sites are off major drainage basins
this determination will be relatively minor in scope for most cases.

15. Prepare Appraisal Level Engineering Designs for all Proj ect Features - A

plan, profile, maximUlt section and area-capacity curve will be shown for

-each reservoir; align~~nt, stationing, location of special structures (by

tabulation) and typical cross-sections will be shown for ditches and canals.

16. Prepare appraisal Level Cost Estimates - Costs will be determined on the

basis of a list of estimated quantities and corresponding unit prices.

Unit prices will be at the 1984 level and will be determined from recent

"

-9-
