CONCLUSIONS <br /> <br />The Great Western Dam and Spillway Enlargement Amended Feasibility <br />Study has been prepared to provide a detailed evaluation of both the <br />technical aspects and financial feasibility of the project. This <br />study has followed the guidelines of the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board for the preparation of feasibility reports. Following are the <br />conclusions and recommendations developed during the course of study. <br /> <br />1. Enlargement Plan <br /> <br />The State Engineer1s Office has issued an order requiring that <br />certain improvements be made as outlined in Chapter IV of this report. <br />The'most significant improvement required is the enlargement of the <br />spillway capacity. Alternative solutions to the spillway capacity <br />requirements were investigated. <br /> <br /> <br />The City of Broomfield has an agressive program for acquisition of <br />additional water rights and for assuring an adequate, dependable raw <br />water supply for the area served by the City both now and in the <br />future. The combination of projected growth and water needs, and the <br />need to fully develop water rights currently owned, indicate 12,000 <br />acre-feet of storage in Great Western Reservoir is optional.
