<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />JULESBURG IRRIGATION DISTRICT <br />PROPOSAL FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES <br />ENLARGEMENT OF JUMBO RESERVOIR <br /> <br />General <br />At the request of the Julesburg Irrigation District, W. W. Wheeler and Associates. <br />Inc. is submitting this proposal tor evaluating the feasibility at enlarging Julesburg (Jumbo) <br />Reservoir. It is our understanding that a reasonable maximum reservoir level would be at <br />approximately Gage Height 30, which corresponds to possible limitations imposed on the <br />delivery of water to the reservoir bv the elevation of the reservoir inlet ditch. For <br />reference, the current restricted stor1Jge level is Gage Height 24 and the historic maximum <br />storage level is Gage Height 27 to 28. As a part of this work, we also propose to evaluate <br />the economic feasibility of developing other reservoir storage sites under (or above) the <br />Ju1esburg system, and to evaluate tHe feasibility of reconstructing the river diversion and <br />relocating a portion of the inlet canal to allow increased reservoir storage. <br /> <br />0uaIific:ati0ns of Wheeler IlnCI Kumat <br />We propose a consulting teant consisting of W. W, Wheeler and Associates, Water <br />Resources Engineers, and Kumar and Associates. Geotechnical Engineers. As you are <br />aware, both Wheeler and Kumar are very familiar with the Julesburg Reservoir dams and <br />geologic/geotechnical features of the area, Both consultants have been involved with a <br />number of studies, design programs and construction of repairs on the Julesburg Reservoir <br />dams over the last 12 years. We have a good familiarity with the dam embankments, <br />foundations. seepage concerns, and construction materialS available near the site. <br /> <br />Wheeler and Kumar have also worked both together and separately on a number <br />of other dam design and dam reh~bilitation projects.
