II
II
II
II
II
II
IJ
II
II
II
II
II
II
~
rl
II
~
~
I

Stage I. The first recommended improvement is to construct a major line from
the treatment plant crossing the river just southeast of the plant and

extending southeast to a 4 mg storage tank south of the Lincoln Park area. This
proposed line is sized to provide sufficient volume and pressures to supply
Canon Chemicals' complete projected development of 6400 people. The storage
tank south of ilie Lincoln Park area would eliminate the problems of low

pressure that now exist in the Lincoln Park and Prospect Heights areas. It

is also proposed to construct a short segment of 12" line from the existing

8" line at Park Avenue and 10th Street to Park Avenue and 12th Street which

will eliminate low pressure and volume problems in that area.

It is recommended that this stage be accomplished in 1973; the estimated cost
as shown in Section 6 is $233,500 for facilities inside the City and
$589,200 for facilities outside the City.

Stage II. The second stage of improvements consists of a major line tieing

into the line from the plant installed under Stage I and extending north along

the west edge of the City ending at 8th and Harding. This line will serve

the Skyline Village and Morningside Subdivisions with sufficient volume to

handle their 1993 projected populations.

A major line would tie in to the existing 12" line in the vicinity of 9th

and Sell Avenue and extend south through Lincoln Park tieing into the line

to the 4 mg storage tank installed under Stage I. This line will keep pace

with the demand that will occurr with increased development south of the Arkansas

River.

A major line would be installed on the north and west sides of the East Canon

area providing a major loop to serve that area where growth is anticipated

to continue as in the past.

It is recommended that this stage be accomplished in 1976; the estimated cost
as shown in Section 6 is $354,400 for facilities inside the City and $301,300 for
facilities outside the City.

5-3
