Baumgartner reported on the selection of the <br />consultant and the deadline for formal "Request For Proposals" (R.F.P.l. <br /> <br />l'KYI'ION : <br /> <br />Commissioner Peterson moved to authorize the Chairman to sign the <br />contract bet\,een Natural Resources (Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board) and Summit County. Commissioner Ulmer seconded the motion <br />and the motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Approval of Telephone System Purchase <br /> <br />Bruce Baumgartner, County Manager, reported on the process of the "Telephone <br />Selection Committee" in soliciting and interviewing telephone/communication <br />companies. ~lr. Baumgartner spoke of the committee's recommendation to enter <br />into a contract "lith American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T) to purchase a <br />new telephone system. The contract is in the amount of Fifty-six Thousand <br />($56,000) Dollars plus installation charges. Mr. Baumgartner, also <br />recommended a separate contract for approximately Thirteen Thousand ($13,000) <br />Dollars for a merlin system, purchased also from AT&T, to be installed at the <br />Road and Bridge Offices in Frisco. Mr. Baumgartner requested approval of <br />these contracts to be subject to final review and approval of the language by <br />Jeffrey L. Huntley, Summit County Attorney. Mr. Baumgartner also recommended <br />that pa,~ent of the telephone system be taken out of the Courthouse <br />Construction Account and not the General Fund as this is a capital purchase <br />and does relate to the Courthouse. <br /> <br />l'KYI'ION : <br /> <br />Commissioner Peterson moved to authorize the County Manager and The <br />Chairman to sign the contract with American Telephone and Telegraph <br />(AT&T) for the neH telephone system at the Courthouse and the Road <br />and Bridge offices, subject to the final review and approval of the <br />language by the County Attorney. Commissioner Ulmer seconded the <br />motion. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Review of TOwTI of Blue River Request for Road Construction <br /> <br />Bruce Baumgartner, County Manager, reported on the letter received from Larry <br />Nelson, Road Commissioner of the Town of Blue River, requesting the Summit <br />County Road and Bridge Department to perform road improvements in three <br />identified areas. Mr. Baum<lartner commented on the summer work schedule of <br />the Road and Bridge Department and, also, competition with the private work <br />sector. <br /> <br />l'KYI'ION : <br /> <br />Commissioner Ulmer moved that the Board deny the request from the <br />TOIm of Blue River to perfonn road improvements in order that <br />private enterprise have the opportunity to perform the '.;ork, and <br />that the project could possibly jeopardize work that needs to be <br />
