I

I

1

included in Priority "#131) and Austin Spring, the major

portion of the adjudicated water rights can be directly.

diverted to the gravity pipeline. Access manholes doubling

as velocity dissipators will have to be installed at specific

locations. The same format as outlined in Alternate III with

1

1

1

respect to the treatment plant, reservoirs and transmission

I

line to Town will be incorporated.

Several distinct advantages are offered by Alternate

1

IV over Alternate III, namely,

,

I

1) The adjudicated water rights owned by the Town

of Ridgway can be maintained-and controlled by

I

them. Outside interference would be eliminated.

2) Loss of water in transit will be greatly cut down.

I This should allow a greater surplus in the summer

I

for irrigation-of lawns and gardens.

3) At times of higrr run~off in Beaver-Creek, the creek

I

could be completely separated from the system.

Using the springs as the source of supply, the

highly turbid and contaminated water will not enter

the system. Having an adjudicated water right of

I

I

0.178 cfs the springs could produce tl15,OOO gpd

which would more than adequately meet the required

1

needs.

1

1

25

1
