POPULATION
With the change of programs and contracts at the Pueblo Army
Depot and the Transportation Test Center, the population of
Boone has fluctuated over recent years. Presently, a no-
growth situation is being experienced' by Boone. This is
compared to a slow growth experienced by Pueblo County as a
whole, namely a 7t% increase between 1970 and 1980 census
figures. As mentioned, Boone's present in-town population
consists of 456 persons.

The Town has considered encouraging the development of a
planned industrial park on 320 acres owned by the Town. This
development would enhance the economic opportunities to the
Town and assure a slow growth in the Town's population and

-2-
