Resolution of <br />this issue represents a major potential liability. <br /> <br />Connection to the water system would likely require annexation to Thornton. A <br />strong majority of the membership opposes annexation. <br /> <br />3 Rehabilitate existing system <br /> <br />Under this alternative, the existing dams, pumps, pump controls, and distribution <br />system would be rehabilitated to meet current needs. The goals of this alternative <br />would be to obtain additional storage, provide modern control system, and conserve <br />existing supplies through a reduction of system losses. <br /> <br />Positive Factors <br />Tllis is the most cost-effective solution. <br /> <br />A water supply system with more stable yields will be provided at a reasonable cost. <br /> <br />Colorado does not lose additional water storage. <br /> <br />Wadley Farms maintains control over its future water supplies. <br /> <br />Wildlife habitat is maintained. <br /> <br />Negative Factors <br />Dams must be maintained in perpetuity creating uncertain future costs. <br /> <br />Capital costs and debt must be incurred by the Wadley Farms BOA <br />
