Wadley Farms could petition for annexation to Thornton and connection to <br />their system. The present distribution system would be abandoned as it would not <br />meet specifications for treated water service. A new distribution system would be <br />constructed. <br /> <br />The costs to connect to Thornton's water system are estimated as shown below. <br />Water tap fee $720,000 <br />Frontage fee $200,000 <br />Distribution system installation $530,000 <br />Service line construction $150,000 <br />Total Cost $1,600,000 <br /> <br />Annual water costs for irrigation purposes would be approximately $35,000 to <br />$40,000. <br /> <br />Positive Factors <br />A reliable source of irrigation water could be assured. <br /> <br />A renewable source of drinking water would also be delivered. <br /> <br />No further maintenance would be required for the dams. Uncertain future <br />maintenance costs would be eliminated. <br />
