Distribution ~ystem Evaluation

The layout of the existing distribution system including the existing

wells and the storage tank is shown on Figure III-I, The map of the system

shows the pipelines sizes, fire hydrants, valves, tees, crosses, etc. which

make up the water distribution network. The following table presents a
summary of the lengths of various sizes of pipe in the system:

WATER DISTRIBUTION PIPELINES

1\
2
4
6

TOTAL

Total Length
(feet)

1,500
9,830
8,140
150

19,620'

Pipe Diameter
(inches)

The current charge schedule for water service as established by the

Town of Nunn is presented below:

Current Water Utility Charge Schedule

Meter Size
(inches)

1/2
3/4
1

Tap Fees

Water Rate (monthly*)

Minimum of $5.00 for 4,000
gallons, plus .30/1000
gallons extra water charge

$1,500.00
1,800,00
2,000.00

* For the five winter months when the meters are not read,
the charge is a minimum of $5.00 each month, or a total
of $25.00 for the winter.

The water is supplied by two shallow wells located as shown on the
layout map. A chlorinator is located at each well. From the two wells,
water is pumped directly into the distribution system (4" lines) for use or

to supply water to the storage tank located in the center of Town. The two
shallow wells have a capacity of 80 gpm each. The deep well which has a
capacity of about 13 gpm is located at the storage tank and is not equipped

23
