HYDROLOGIC ANALYSES

Dear Mr. Hergert:

I

Our office has recently completed hydrologic analyses for tlle purpose of evaluating tlle
adequacy of the spillways for the subject dams. The spillway for Angel Lake Dam was found to be
adequate, primarily because the reservoir has sufficient surcharge capacity to store the inflow design
flood (IDF). However, the spillway for Wood Lake Dam was detennined to be inadequate and you
are hereby directed to proceed with designs to enlarge the spillway. It is,noted that while the IDF
for this dam is for an event equal to 50% of the probable maximum precipitation (PMP),
incremental damage analysis may show that a lesser event may be suitable as the !OF. By this letter
you are directed to complete any necessary construction by December 31, 1999 to bring the spillway
into compliance with our Rules.
