The existing line from the intake to the tank site is cast iron

pipe of three different sizes. The first run, a six inch line, ends

at the point of distribution for the industrial water supply. This

line should rem8in intact and provide industrial water to Rico Argentine

at a point 1,200 feet below the intake. The second stretch of line is

a four inch 0ast iron pipe 3,200 feet long. The final length is a

three inch cast iron pipe three inches in diameter and 2,200 feet in

length, which extends to the chlorination building. This line at

capacity ,vill flow 167 gal./rnin.with a residual pressure of 30 p.s.i.

The proposed six inch cast iron pipe will replace the existing

three inch line. It will increase the capacity of the line to 303 gal./min.

with a residual pressure of 30 p.s.i.

The existing chlorinator shed is an 8' x 10' wooden building

housing the chlcrinator tank, regulator and the various lines necessary

for a vacuum type gas chlorine feeder, The three inch line pours

into an overflow concrete box that dissipates all pressure, diverts the

"later into ,,",other chaiilber which is the intake for the three inch cast

iron pipe to the existing 100,000 gallon storage tank. The flow j.s

regulated by a three inch gate valve on the intake line.

The proposed rep1aca~ent for, this 8' x 10' shed is a 22' x 35'

building, insulated and heated, which houses a 300 ga1./min. capacity

pressure filter with an alum feeding unit and has a separate room with

a gas Chlorination system, This building also houses an altitude valve

that regulates flow based on water height in tank. The switching on of

this valve should be accomplished electronicalJ;r t-lith mercoid switches

in the tank. Also, the valve must be operated on a solenoid device to

prevent Hater haryuner. The static pressure at the filter is 156 p.s.i.,
