Rock Creek Project

A site on Rock Creek was identified as a potential water storage facil-
ity for Western Slope Users in initial studies performed jointly by the
Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District (NCWCD) and the Colorado
River Water Conservation District (River District) in 1982-83. Later
studies performed for the River District determined that a roller com-
pacted concrete dam at the site would be technically feasible. Pre-
liminary cost estimates were developed during these studies. However,
they were based on incomplete knowledge of site conditions and materi-
als sources and their accuracy was therefore limited.

Additional studies performed during these feasibility investigations
and definition of the project at the Rock Creek site are described in
Chapter 3.

8. Muddy Creek Project

Four sites on Muddy Creek referred to as Wolford Mountain Reservoir
Sites A, B. C, and D were identified in studies performed for the River
District and NCWCD in 1983. These studies concluded that Site C was

1 - 3

7062W/5020W
