-:J.l.

.

.

4. Identify areas of concentrated development within the district that may benefit from additional
management.

5. Quantify actual water use to predict future water level declines.

6. Verify, as much as possible, the direct connection between the four main aquifers to quantify
the migration of water among the four aquifers.

7. Estimate demand for future use of water in the district.

8. Identify sites of water quality contamination for future mitigation.

This infonnation will then be used to inform the district of the following:

1. Update the associated infonnation in the Beck Report that was not addressed in the feasibility
report.

2. Develop diagrams and figures depicting the historic water level declines in the aquifers that
have occurred since the Beck Report was completed in 1967.

3, Quantify water use trends in the District

4. Affects of management decisions as they may impact future water level changes.

The first priority will be to verify the data from the State Engineer's Office Well Data Base and then update
the relevant portions of the 1967 Beck Report that could not be included in the feasibility investigation due to
time and budget constraints. The work will be performed in cooperation with appropriate entities including
but not limited to the District Board and its members, the Colorado State Engineer's Office, the Colorado
Geological Survey, and the United States Geologic Survey. Those tasks which cannot be completed within
this scope of services will be performed at a later time.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

MWE proposes the followmg steps to complete the various tasks proposed:

L Review the digital well records maintained by the Colorado State Engineer's Office to
insure the data base used in the report accurately accounts for the permitted wells in the
District.

Product:

A current listing (February 2000) of the wells of record in the district
based upon the State Engineers Office digital well records will be
developed and put into electronic form and in hard copy fonnat.

2

P:\t999\99-02a\OOlOO\wp\Part I Sco~ or Servicce.wpd
