Investigate the feasibility of an alternate water supply delivery <br />facility, in lieu of treatm(!nt, for improving the quality of <br />water delivered to the system. <br /> <br />J <br />J <br />, <br />~ <br /> <br />With respect to the review and analysis of the City's water storage and <br />distribution system, the Consulting Engineer shall: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />a. Review and analyzE! the system with respect to future population <br />growth and population distribution for the period to the year <br />2000. The City's land us", plan will be utilized in the develop- <br />ment of estimated-future water requirements within the various <br />zoning areas. Determination of future water demands will be <br />based on the City's forecasts of population growth. <br /> <br />b. Compile, using existing D:laps' and records of the City, distri- <br />bution system informatioIl and data, including line sizes and <br />lengths, material and estimates of age and condition of pipes <br />and appurtenances. <br /> <br />c. Perform or cause to be performed tests of the distribution <br />_ system flow characteristics as are necessary to determine its <br />conditions and adequacy. <br /> <br />d. Evaluate the adequacy of the City's storage facilities for <br />maximum demand requir(!ments and for fire-fighting supply <br />conditions. <br /> <br />e. Evaluate the ability of the water distribution system to meet <br />present and projected requirements. <br /> <br />. <br />f. Investigate the feasibility of tying in the area presently served <br />off the Ruxton supply to the basic system. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
