The desired financing is through an
Emergency Loan, Any work related to river training may be financed through a Construction Fund
Loan which would be applied for at a later date, A preliminary site plan, and a detailed
construction drawing for the check replacement and island revetment are included in Appendix D,

The former wood and rubble check structure will be replaced with a steel sheet pile check dam
provided with stoplogs to allow a low flow outlet, and flash boards for checking to the full height of
the previous structure. A downstream rock riprap stilling basin would dissipate the energy of flow
proceeding over the check. Riprap will also be provided as bank revetment on both banks of the
approach to the check, for a short distance on the south bank of the south channel, and around the
east end of the island on the north bank of the south channel and the south bank of the north
channel.

Cost Estimate

The selected alternative is estimated to cost a total of $164,000 ($15,000 net for design and the
feasibility study, plus $149,000 for construction), The construction cost estimate, including
contingencies, was provided by the company's engineer and is summarized in the following table,

7
