Average annual day
. Average irrigation season day
. Peak irrigation season day

175 gpd
350 gpd
438 gpd

The relationship between the units and persons in the above calculations is 3.0 persons per
unit.

Proiected Treatment Plant Reauirements

For purposes herein, it is assumed that the reliable existing operating capacity of the
system is limited to 480 gpm by the raw water pipeline. In order to incorporate the
existing facility into future plant expansions, it is most efficient to use incremental
increases. The recommended phasing for the treatment facility and its associated capacity
expressed in the number of units to be served is as follows:

PLANT CAPACITY I OF U NITS SERVED # OF UNITS SERVED # OF UNITS SERVED
Averag e Day Average Irrigation Day Peak Irrigation Day -
Existing - 480 gpm 1100 700 550
capaci ty
Phase I - 1200 gpm 3300 1800 1400
caDacity I I II
II p~se I~ ~ 2400 6600 3600 2800
g capaclty

Because the treatment facilities must be able to treat at a rate equal to the maximum day
demand, the rated plant capacity is represented by the peak irrigation season day number
of units served.

Raw Water Pipeline Expansions

It is not cost effective to incrementally increase the size of a buried pipeline. Rather, the
pipeline must be sized to serve its ultimate service requirements. In this case, the pipeline
must serve the Phase (( plant expan-sion requirements of 2800 gpm. - Unfortunately, the
pipeline in its current configuration cannot service any additional capacity beyond the
existing plant, and_ the replacement of the existing pipeline must occur with Phase I of the
water treatment plant.

Presedimentation Pond Expansion

SCHMUESER GORDON MEYER, INC.
