<br />2. EASTERN PORTAL
<br />
<br />This item shall be paid for on a lump sum basis and shall include the cost of furnishing all equipment, labor, and
<br />materials required to enlarge, improve, and stabilize eastern tunnel portal for safety and the equipment access
<br />required for the underground work. The Contractor shall submit shop drawings detailing the proposed portal
<br />improvements. The work may include, but is not limited to, the following items: portal widening, scaling, rock
<br />reinforcement, shotcrete, steel ribs/lagging, temporary timber canopy.
<br />
<br />3. CONCRETE INVERT AND PERMANENT RAIL
<br />
<br />All equipment, labor, and materials required to place approximately 2,000 linear feet of concrete invert and
<br />permanent rail extending from the eastern portal to Station 20+00. The work will include all required
<br />dewatering, preparation and cleaning of 2,000 lineal feet of invert, hauling and placement of approximately 450
<br />yards' of fiber reinforced concrete, and installation of 2,000 lineal feel of rail compatible with the Contractor's
<br />equipment and underground work plan.
<br />
<br />These items shall be paid for on the following basis:
<br />
<br />A. Invert Concrete: Per cubic yard placed and accepted by the Engineer. This item will be
<br />measured using concrete truck tickets.

<br />Permanent Rail: Per lineal foot of tunnel installed and accepted by the Engineer.

<br />4. TEMPORARY RAIL EAST
<br />
<br />All equipment, labor, and materials required to install and remove approximately 3,333 lineal feet of temporary
<br />rail extending from Station 20+00 through the caved section at Station 53 + 33, The work includes ail ties, rails,
<br />blocking, and shims necessary for a complete installation.

<br />This item shall be paid for on a per lineal foot of tunnel basis installed and accepted by the Engineer.

<br />5. REMINE TIMBER SECTION

<br />All equipment, labor, and materials to remove existing timber support and remine 25 lineal feet of tunnel from
<br />approximately Station 14 + 26 to Station 14 + 51. The work includes drilling up to 100 lineal feet of probe holes
<br />to assess rock condit'lons, providing and installing approximately eight steel ribs with all required spiling, iagging,
<br />cribbing, clamps, foot blocks, tie rods, and all accessories; and removal of associated muck.

<br />A. The remining and support of the tunnel shall be paid for on a per lineal foot of tunnel basis
<br />installed and accepted by the Engineer.

<br />6. WIDEN TIMBER SUPPORTED SECTION
<br />

<br />Furnish all equipment, labor, and materials required to widen a gapped timber supported section, Station 32 + 12
<br />to 32 + 95, sufficiently in horizontal dimension to allow moving 5.3' diameter (1.0,) steel pipe through the 83'
<br />long section to pipe lined sections further west in the tunnel, and to allow lining of this section with 5.3" 1.0.
<br />steel pipe. The Contractor shall prepare a submittal outlining plans for doing the work. The work may include,
<br />but is not limited to, the following: bracing the existing timbers with steel supports between the gapped timbers,
<br />trimming the insides of the existing timbers, removing and replacing alternating timber supports with wider
<br />spaced steel supports or other approaches that provide for safety of personnel and protect the tunnel. This item
<br />shall be paid for on a per lineal foot basis.
