<br />DIVISION 1 - GENERAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />SECTION 01025. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> <br />PART 1 . GENERAL <br /> <br />The entire cost of the work and the material necessary to complete ail items shown or implied on the drawings or <br />specified herein shall be included and merged into the pay items shown in Section 00030, Bid Proposal. All <br />payments shail be subject to the conditions of these specifications. <br /> <br />All pay items shall include materiais, transportation expenses to the job site, all costs for environmental controis, <br />ventilation and required underground utiiities, cost of maintenance during construction, snow removal, <br />dewatering, laboratory materials testing, guarantees and warranties, if applicable, profit, saies tax, license, <br />permits, and other taxes required for the completion of the project in piace for each item in the bid scheduie. <br /> <br />No additional compensation will be allowed for any item compieted beyond the iimits as shown on the Contract <br />Drawings without the prior written approval of the Engineer. <br /> <br />The quantities set forth herein have been estimated based on the existing underground conditions. The <br />Contractor shall be responsible for his own quantity takeoffs prior to bid opening in order to satisfy himself as to <br />the accuracy of the amount of work and quantities set forth herein, No adjustment will be made for any lump <br />sum bid item regardiess of any variance in quantities that may be discovered after the bid opening. <br /> <br />Payment for unit price bid items will not be made for any work beyond the iimits as shown on the drawings <br />without prior written authorization from the Engineer. <br /> <br />PART 2. MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> <br />2.01 MOBILIZATION <br /> <br />This item shall be paid for on a lump sum basis and shall include the cost of furnishing at the job site all <br />equipment, facilities, and materials required to complete the described tunnei rehabiiitation work and all <br />appurtenant faciiities. Includes move in and move out for Phases 1 and 2, all bonds and insurance, and staging <br />area preparation. A lump sum of $75,000 has been entered in the bid form for Contractor mobilization and may <br />be invoiced on the first pay request. <br /> <br />PHASE 1 WORK <br /> <br />EASTERN TUNNEL <br /> <br />1. ACCESS ROAD <br /> <br />This item shaii be paid for on a lump sUm basis and shall include the cost of furnishing all equipment, labor, and <br />materials required to improve approximately 2,500 lineal feet of access road. Work will include removing an <br />estimated 30 trees of less than 6" caliper, installing 12 feet of 18" diameter reinforced concrete culvert with flared <br />end section, placing 4" of road base in 12' wide roadway, placing and removing jersey barriers on trail up to <br />portal, and providing necessary silt fence and straw bail erosion protection. Approximately 400 yards' of road <br />base is to be excavated from the top of the muck pile at the east tunnel portal as directed by the Engineer. <br /> <br />10/00 <br /> <br />Section 01025.
