1.07 WIDEN TIMBER SUPPORTED SECTION

Furnish all equipment, labor, and materials required to widen a gapped timber supported section, Station 32 + 12
to 32+95, sufficiently in horizontal dimension to allow moving 5.3' diameter (1.0.) steel pipe through the 83'
long section to pipe lined sections further west in th'e tunnel, and to allow lining of this section with 5.3' 1.0.
steel pipe. The Contractor shall prepare a submittal outlining plans for doing the work. The work may include,
but is not limited to, the foliowing: bracing the existing timbers with steel supports between the gapped timbers,
trimming the insides of the existing timbers, removing and replacing alternating timber supports with wider
spaced steel supports or other approaches that provide for safety of personnel and protect the tunnel.

1.08 STEEL PIPE LINER

Furnish all equipment, labor, and materials to install approximately 244 lineal feet of 5.3' internal diameter steel
pipe final liner. The pipe will be installed in 5 tunnel sections as identified below:

Station 23+97 to 24+03
Station 32 + 12 to J3 + 58
Station 38 + 16 to 38 + 25
Station 38+45 to 38+58
Station 52 + 73 to 53 + 33

Square Timber
Square Timber
Square Timber
Square Timber
Steel Set Canopy

The work includes installing the pipe, constructing temporary bulkheads, filling the annulus with cellular
concrete, contact grouting between the pipe and cellular concrete, conventional void grouting approximately 5'
above the existing support (square timber and steel ribs), and construction of shotcrete transitions and aprons.
The work will include approximately 210 yards' of cellular concrete, 150 yards' of conventional grout, and 20
yards' of shotcrete.

1.09 5 HOTCRETE AND ROCK BOlTS

Furnish all equipment, labor, and materials to install approximately 255 lineal feet of pattern rock bolts and
placing a 3" nominal layer of shotcrete from approximately spring line to spring line in various areas between
Stations 20+00 and 52 + 73. The work includes installing approximately 210 6.foot long rock bolts with
associated nuts, bearing plates, 80 mine straps, and placing approximately 60 yards' of shotcrete.

1.10 REPAiR CONCRETE LINED SECTIONS WiTH SHOTCRETE AND GROUT

Furnish all equipment, labor, and materials to repair approximately 72 lineal feet of existing concrete liner with
shotcrete anQ grout. The concrete liner occurs in two sections as follows:

Station 27+90 to 28+35
Station 29+27 to 29+54

The work includes placing approximately 20 yards' of shotcrete and approximately 75 yards' of conventional
cement void grouting extending approximately 5'above the concrete crown.

1.11 EXCAVATE MUCK FROM BALD TUNNEL

Furnish all equipment, labor, and materials to excavate approximately 600 yards' of caved rock rubble, boulders,
and treated timbers from approximately 350 lineal feet of tunnel extending from approximateiy Station 49 + 70 to
Station 52 + 73. The rock materials will be hauled to the eastern portal and placed on the existing muck pile in
areas approved by the Engineer. The timbers will be hauled to the portal and stockpiled at lower staging area for
, removal to a storage area by others.

Section 01010.
