Collins, CO 80525 <br /> <br />Subject: Potential Lease of Water Rights for Endangered Fishes <br />Program <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Maurier: <br /> <br />In response to our earlier discussions, the Water Rights <br />Acquisition Subcommittee of the Recovery Program may be <br />interested in leasing water through the Division of Parks and <br />Outdoor Recreation over the next one to five years on an "as <br />needed" basis from Steamboat and/or Stagecoach Reservoirs. <br /> <br />If water is available, a number of questions must first be <br />resolved for each reservoir: <br /> <br />1. Can the rights to the Steamboat Lake and Stagecoach <br />Project be released for instream flows to provide fish <br />habitat in the lower Yampa? <br />2. What uses is this water decreed for? <br />3. How much water is available? <br />4. What would be the cost of this water? <br /> <br />Our next meeting is scheduled for October 1, 1990.
