A portion of the flooding contained in the improved channel is now designated Zone AE and the overflow from the channel and the culverts is designated as Zone AO shallow flooding. Because of the shifting of the SFHA, base (lOO-year) flood elevations (BFEs) are shown for areas that were previously not impacted by 100-year flooding. All of the Zone AE flooding is contained on community property but the areas of shallow flooding impact property other than that owned by the requester or the community. This occurs in the vicinity of the intersection of Betty Drive and Van Teylingen Drive. A copy of this notification is enclosed. Any request for reconsideration must be based on scientific or technical data. In addition, a notice of changes will be published in the Federal ReRister. We encourage you to supplement this notification by preparing an article for publication in your community newspaper. This article should describe the changes that have been made and the assistance your community will give in providing data and interpreting the NFIP maps. Because this LOMR will not be printed and distributed to primary users, such as local insurance agents and mortgage lenders, your community will serve as a repository for the new data. The revisions are effective as of the date of this letter; however, within 90 days of the second publication in the Gazette TeleRra1>h, a citizen may request that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reconsider the determination made by this LOMR. Any request for reconsideration must be based on scientific or technical data. All interested parties are on notice that, until the 90-day period elapses, the determination to modify the BFEs presented in this LOMR may itself be modified.
