Specifically, this responds to a letter dated June 6, 1994, <br />from Mr. David M. Frick, Ph.D., P.E., Regional Vice President, Resource <br />Consultants & Engineers, regarding the effective FIS report and Flood <br />Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for the City of Colorado Springs, Colorado. <br />Mr. Frick requested that we revise the effective FIRM to show the effects of <br />channel improvements, culvert construction, and more detailed hydraulic and <br />hydrologic analyses along Templeton Gap South Overflow from its confluence <br />with Templeton Gap Floodway to approximately 600 feet upstream of Van <br />Teylingen Drive. <br /> <br />All data required <br />Mr. Frick's June <br />Mr. Dan Bunting, <br />Department. All <br />(LOMa), a total of <br /> <br />to complete our review of this request were submitted with <br />6 letter and with a letter dated March 30, 1994, from <br />Regional Floodplain Administrator, Regional Building <br />fees necessary to process this Letter of Map Revision <br />$1,410, have been received. <br /> <br />We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown <br />on the effective FIRM and have revised the FIRM to modify the elevations, <br />floodplain boundary delineations, and zone designations of a flood having a <br />l-percent probability of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base <br />flood) along Templeton Gap South Overflow from its confluence with Templeton <br />Gap Floodway to approximately 600 feet upstream of Van Teylingen Drive. <br /> <br />This revision incorporates channel improvements constructed along Templeton <br />Gap South Overflow, from its confluence with Templeton Gap Floodway to <br />approximately 600 feet upstream, and the installation of culverts at Wesley <br />Circle and Van Teylingen Drive. Detailed hydrologic and hydraulic analyses <br />were performed to evaluate the effects of the improvements.
