<br />3.05 MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />A. The Contractor shall maintain plantin~IS throughout the duration of the <br />project until the end of Final Acceptance. <br /> <br />B. Maintenance shall include the following: <br /> <br />1. Re-set settled plants to propE'r. grade and position. Restore <br />planting saucer and fill void and air pockets around root balls. <br /> <br />2. Water nursery grown trees, shrubs and willow cuttings immediately <br />after planting and then water plants until I'inal Acceptance. <br />3. Stake all trees and container stock immediately after planting to <br />assure stability. <br /> <br />3.07 WARRANTY <br /> <br />A. Warranty Period <br /> <br />1. The warranty of plant materials shall begin upon notice of Final <br />Acceptance, given by the Owner's Representative. <br /> <br />2. The warranty period shall be 1'01" one growing season p"lus time to <br />leaf out the following Spring of 1989. <br /> <br />8. Replacements <br /> <br />1. Plant materials that are covered by the \larranty are; Nursery grown <br />trees and shrubs, cattails and willow cuttings. <br /> <br />2. Warrant plant materials to remain alive and be in healthy, vigorous <br />condition for the period specified. <br /> <br />3. The Contractor shall replace any plant ma.terial covered by the <br />\~arranty, that is dead, or in the opinion of the Owner's Represen- <br />tative, in unhealthy or unsight"iy condit'ion, or that has been <br />damaged beyond repair due to inadequate maintenance and/or protec- <br />tion from the natural elements. <br /> <br />4. Replacement plantings shall occur 'in May, 1989. <br /> <br />5. Replacement of planting is to be in accordance with the original <br />specifications and its costs cons~dered to be included in the bid <br />price. All areas damaged by tree or shrub planting or replacement <br />operations are to be fully restored to theil' original condition as <br />spec i fi ed. <br /> <br />3.08 FINAL ACCEPTANCE TO PLANTING WORK <br /> <br />The Contractor shall notify the Owner"s Representative upon completion of <br />remedial work for reinspection by the OWnel"'S Representative. <br /> <br />If the remedial work is approved by the Owner's Representative he will <br />prepare a Certificate of Final Acceptance of Planting Work. <br />
