<br />to Owner's Representative for approval ten (10) days before delivery to <br />the site. Contractor shall supply test results from an approved soils <br />testing 'laboratory as requested by the Owner's Representative. <br /> <br />2.03 WILLOW CUTTINGS <br /> <br />Willow stems shall be provided by the Contractor at no charge to the Owner. <br />The Contractor shall be responsible for p'ickup of the plant material and <br />delivery to the project site. Willow stems shall be rooted in tube packs or <br />4" nu-pots for a period by 4 to 6 weeks or as other'wise determined by the <br />Owner's Representative. The plant materials shall be provided by: <br /> <br />Little Valley Nursery <br />13022 E. 136th Avenue <br />Brighton, CO 80601 <br /> <br />The Contractor is responsible for ordering plant stock in advance to meet <br />project and planting schedules established for the project. Plant material <br />shall be covered when transported in open vehicles with a protective covering <br />to keep them from drying out and to prevent wind bur'n. The plant material <br />shall be planted immediately upon delive,')' or protected by covering with <br />moist soil or mulch and watered as necessary until planted. The Contractor <br />is responsible for the condition of plant material until accepted by the <br />Engi neer. <br /> <br />2.04 MULCH <br /> <br />See Section 900 Seeding. <br /> <br />PART 3 <br /> <br />EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 PLANTING TREES AND SHRUBS <br /> <br />A. Preparation <br /> <br />1. Water plants as needed to keep roots from drying out before <br />planting. <br /> <br />2. Dig pits and prepare planting son prior to moving plants to their <br />respective locations for planting to ensurE, that they will not be <br />unnecessarily exposed to drying elements or to physical damage. <br />Circular pits with vertical sides hand-trimmed shall be excavated <br />for shrubs and transplanted cottonwoods. Diameter of pits for <br />planting shall be at least twice the spread of balls or container, <br />or as specified per detail on the drawings. It is not anticipated <br />that planting shall be done where the depth of soil over underground <br />construction obstructions, or rock. is insufficient to accommodate <br />the roots or where pockets in rock or impervious soil will require <br />drainage. If such conditions are encountered in excavation of <br />planting areas, and if the stone, boulders. or other obstructions <br />cannot be broken and removed by hand methods in the course of <br />digging plant pits of the usual size, other locations for the <br />plantings may be designated. Removal of rock or other underground <br />obstructions and relocation of plant materials shall be done only <br />
