<br />If the work and Application are satisfactory according to the Contract <br />Documents and prOfessional engineering and construction standards, he <br />shall recommend to the Owner issuance of a CertHicate of Final Comple- <br />tion. If the Owner objects for any rf'ason, he shall so state to the <br />Engineer in writing within ten (10) days. The Engineer shall instruct <br />the Contractor to remedy the Owner's objections. <br /> <br />307.3 <br /> <br />No inspection, approval, failure to approve nor failure to detect any <br />defects, errors or omissions by the Engineer shall limit or excuse the <br />liability of the Contractor or Subcontractor or any other party involved <br />in the Project, nor waive or limit any remedy that may be available to <br />the Owne r. <br /> <br />308. UNCOVERING AND CORRECTION OF DEFECTIVE WORK <br /> <br />308.1 Uncovering Work <br /> <br />308..1.1 If any work is covered or made unavaila.b"le contrary to specific require- <br />ments of the Contract Documents or the written request of the Engineer, <br />it must be uncovered or made ava-ilable at the Engineer's request, and <br />replaced at the expense of the Contractor. <br /> <br />308.1.2 If the Engineer considers it necessuy to have any other covered or <br />unavailable Work uncovered or made available for inspection or testing, <br />the Contractor shall uncover or make such Work available at the Engineer's <br />request. Payment for the uncovering, making available, corr'ection and <br />covering or replacing of the l,ork shall depend on whether or not any <br />defects are discovered in the ,Jork. If the Work is found to be defective, <br />the Contractor shall bear the costs of uncovering, making available, <br />correcting, covering and replacing the work. If no defects are dis- <br />covered, the Contractor may request a Change Order be issued to adjust the <br />Contract to reflect increased costs and time occasioned by the extra <br />work ordered under this paragraph. <br /> <br />308.2 Correction or Removal of Defective \,ork <br /> <br />308.2.1 The Contractor shall correct or remove and replace all Work rejected by <br />the Engineer for failure to comply with the Contract Documents at the <br />Contractor's own expense. <br /> <br />308.2.2 Owner's Correction of Defective Work <br /> <br />In the event that the Contractor refuses or fails to correct or remove <br />defective Work when ordered to do so by the Engineer, the Owner may <br />correct any defective Work on its own after giving the Conty'actor ten <br />(10) days written notice. The Owner may make an appropriate deduction <br />in the Contract Price. The Contractor shall not be allowed an extension <br />in the Contract Time as a result of cOl'rections performed by the Owner <br />under this paragraph. <br /> <br />GC - 11 <br />
