The governing body shall <br />promptly take such action with respect to such recom- <br />mendation as may be appropriate and practical. Any <br />application for a permit to conduct a development in a <br />hazard initial control area shall not be considered com- <br />plete or be accepted unless and until it is accompanied <br />by the results of any studies needed to determine whether <br />the proposed development is located in a low hazard area, <br />a medium hazard area, a severe tree hazard area, or a <br />severe brush hazard area. <br /> <br />(4) The necessary studies referred to in subsection 4-202(3) <br />of these regulations may be financed by this jurisdiction, <br />the applicant for a permit, or otherwise. <br /> <br />(5) Upon completion of the study of the area, the administrator <br />shall inform the applicant in writing whether the site of <br />his/her proposed development lies within any of the fol- <br />lowing: <br /> <br />(a) A low hazard area, in which case further processing <br />of the application shall be governed by 4-203 below. <br /> <br />(b) A medium hazard area, in which case further processing <br />of the application shall be governed by 4-204 below. <br /> <br />(c) A severe tree hazard area, in which case, further pro- <br />cessing of the application shall be governed by 4-205 <br />below. <br /> <br />(d) A severe brush hazard area, in which case further pro- <br />cessing of the applicat~on shall be governed by 4-206 <br />below. <br /> <br />(e) None of the above, in which case none of the provisions <br />of Article 2 of these regulations shall have any fur- <br />ther applicability to such application. <br /> <br />Low Hazard Area <br /> <br />(1) The provisions of this section 4-203 apply to each low <br />hazard area shown on the map or maps listed in Article 3 <br />of this Chapter 4. <br /> <br />(2) All schools, hospitals, nursing homes, churches and any <br />other similar use intended or principally designed for <br />the occupation, habitation or congregation of children, <br />handicapped persons, elderly persons, or invalids, shall: <br /> <br />(a) be separated from natural fuels by a strip, 12 to 14 <br />feet wide around the development; and <br /> <br />-7- <br />
