' <br /> <br />A number <br />in the study. <br />The following <br />studY. <br /> <br />qf items were discussed which might be included <br />These have since been reviewed by our staff. <br />recommendations are made as to the scope of the <br /> <br />We feel t~at the study effort should be concentrated in <br />five main area~ as summarized below: <br /> <br />-Study of flood warning systems <br /> <br />-Study of flood proofing and building code requirements <br /> <br />-Economic analysis of flood plain development alternatives <br /> <br />-Hydrolog~c and drainage data study <br />-Hydraulic analysis (canyon only) <br /> <br />A flood wqrning system study is needed for the poudre <br />Canyon and floqd plain as well as for other canyons. Hopefully, <br />this aspect of the study would utilize the Poudre River Basin <br />as a laboratory to develop data applicable to other canyons. <br />The results of ' this work should include detailed recommendations <br />for a system for sensing and distributing notification whenever <br />there is imminent danger of high water. This prestmably should <br />include an analysis of time available for warning at various <br />points, and co~munication and travel routes. <br /> <br />. <br />
