A copy of a'general summary of the
work plan is attached.

I would like to su"gest that, the staffs of our respective
organizations reach Some concensus, if possible, as to the
viahility or suitability of the proposed study .and present our
views to the elected officials. In addition, we owe a courtesy
to the COE to be specific as to what our needs are in this
regard so that they can respond accordingly.

Therefore, I request that you provide written comments by
Monday, February 13, 1977, on the summary proposal and make
specific requests for the type of information you would like
to see generated in such a study along with the use to which it
would be put by local units of government.

If you envision your work schedule being time-dependent
upon the Corps of Engineers' proposed study, please so indicate.

Finally, please indicate the level of detail or "degree of
resolution II you ~would requir'e in order for t11e study to be
useful. For example, are you interested in determining bridge
design criteria at specific l~cations along the poudre River
or the extent of localized or neighborhood flooding resulting
from different types of land uses or increased percent imper-
viousness in drainage sub-basins.

Our intent~on is to call a meeting the third week of
February to discuss our respective comments. The COG Governing
Board will review the COG Staff comments and recommendations at
the March 2, 1977, Governing Board meeting.

FAE:psj
Ene.
