<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />DISASTER PREPAREDNESS IMPROVEMENT (DPI) PROGRAM <br /> <br />The Disaster Preparedness Improvement Program (DPI) has pursued a <br />wide range of key activities in support of state and local <br />emergency management programs. Major projects have included <br />development and enhancement of the state disaster recovery system, <br />the State Individual and Family Grant (IFG) plan, updating and <br />development of state plan annexes, promulgation of a State <br />Landslide Hazard Mitigation Plan, planning for the establishment <br />of a State Haza~d Mitigation Council, and the systematic approach <br />to updating and mOdernizing the State Emergency Operations Plan. <br />Local planning assistance continues to place emphasis on a <br />structured on-site assistance program, a dam safety progt-am to <br />stimulate local awareness, conduct of hazard analysis designed to <br />stress the'state major natural threats, and the conduct of <br />training/exercises for state/local officials with emphasis on <br />recovery functions. <br /> <br />The DPI program for FFY90 will again <br />comprehensive disaster preparedness and <br />assistance; and will specifically focus upon: <br /> <br />be directed toward <br />plan development <br /> <br />Develop and conduct training for State/local officials on <br />provisions of the amendments to P.L. 93-288. (DP105R) <br /> <br />Revise handbooks or standard operating procedures for State <br />agencies/officials toperfo~m di~aster response or mitigation <br />responsibilities. (DP106R) <br />
