<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />DIRECTION, CONTROL AND WARNING (D & W) (EMA STAFF MANAGEMENT) <br /> <br />The Division intends to improve capacity in the DC & W program to <br />the maximum extent possible within the guidance provided and within <br />the funds available. To this extent priority effort. will be <br />directed toward completing projects begun with prior years <br />funding, maintaining and improving state and local warning and <br />communications projects started in prior years, and expanding <br />Survivable Crisis Management Systems as funds allow. <br /> <br />Within existing capabilities, technical assistance will be provided <br />to local governments to assist them in enhancing their DC & Wand <br />imp 1 ementat 1 on of new EBS plans, Exerc i ses conducted by other <br />program elements will be structured to exercise EOC plans and <br />activities as much as possible. <br /> <br />This division contracts with the National Weather Service (NWS) and <br />manages on the i r beha 1 f the NOAA Weather Rad i 0 (NWR) system in <br />Colorado. This is one of the many warning systems available to the <br />state to provide timely warning of natural and man-caused threats <br />to the public.
