<br />information report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, City ofFruita, Colorado, Mesa County", dated <br />July 15, 1992; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report included detailed floodplain information for streams within the <br />corporate limits of the City of Fraita, as they were on July 15, 1992, which revised the detailed <br />information for the Colorado River. contained in Resolution No. 78; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested by the City ofFruita, <br />by Resolution No. 94-365, adopted on July 19, 1994, designated and approved the detailed <br />floodplain information included in said report and rescinded that portion of Resolution No. 78 <br />relating to the Colorado River within the corporate limits of the City of Fraita, as they were on <br />July 15, 1992; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, in cooperation with <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board, prepared preliminary floodplain mapping entitled <br />"Colorado River and Tributaries Floodplain Study, Garfield and Mesa Counties, Colorado", dated <br />July, 1987; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said preliminary mapping contains detailed floodplain information for the <br />Colorado River from the upstream end of DeBeque Canyon upstream to the vicinity of West <br />Glenwood Springs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said preliminary mapping has not been published in report form and is, <br />therefore, not ready for designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said preliminary mapping will, when it is designated and approved by the <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board, provide more current and accurate floodplain information <br />than the detailed floodplain information included in Resolutions Nos. 22, 245 and 246, for the <br />Colorado River only; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said preliminary mapping is consistent with the detailed floodplain <br />information included in Resolution No. 303 for the Colorado River only; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Floodplain Information Report, Colorado River <br />Mainstem, From Rifle to Utah- Colorado State Line", dated March 1995 and revised April 1996, <br />has been prepared by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report includes approximate floodplain information for the Colorado <br />River within the corporate limits of the City of Rifle, the Town of Parachute, the Town of <br />DeBeque, the Town of Palisade, the City of Grand Junction, the City of Fraita, within <br />unincorporated portions of Garfield County and within unincorporated portions of Mesa County, <br />as they were in April 1996; and <br /> <br />6 <br />
