Data Required To Support the Request <br />The requestor must provide data that are sufficient to allow FEMA to <br />verify the location of the structure or parcel of land and that the struc- <br />ture or land is not subject to inundation during the base flood, <br />Determinations For Existing Structures, The following data must be <br />submitted: <br />1, A copy of the recorded deed with the legal description of the <br />property and the deed book volume and page number. bearing <br />the seai of the Recorder of Deeds. <br />2, A copy of the recorded plat showing both the location of the <br />properly and the plat book volume and page number. bearing the <br />seai of the Recorder of Deeds, If the property is not recorded on <br />a plat map. copies of the tax map or other suitable maps are <br />required to aid FEMA in accurately locating the property. <br />3, A topographic map. certified "as'built" by registered professional <br />engineer or licensed land surveyor. showing structure locations <br />(if appiicable). ground elevations, and the elevations of the lowest <br />finished grades adjacent to the structures (if applicable), <br />4, Data to substantiate the BFE. These data may be taken from an <br />authoritative source, such as the U,S, Army Corps of Engineers. <br />U,S. Geological Survey, U,S, Soil Conservation Service, any other <br />Federal agency, State and local water resource or planning <br />departments, a FEMA FIS. or information prepared by a regis- <br />tered professional engineer, <br />5, A signed statement asserting the accuracy of the information <br />submitted, <br />The data required to support a request for a conditional determina- <br />tion are generally the same as those required for determinations for <br />existing structures, However. none of the plans or structural elevations <br />submitted will be certified "as.built." Note that after January I, 1986. a <br />fee wiil be assessed for conditional determinations, (See previous sec- <br />tion for fee schedule,) <br /> <br />(,' <br /> <br />D. General Technical Guidance <br />When developing technicai supporting data, requestor's should con- <br />sider the following points: <br />. If an entire legally described parcel of land is shown to be inadver- <br />tently inciuded in the SFHA. the LOMA will be issued for the <br />parcel. <br />. If the request is for more than one lot or structure, then the <br />requestor must provide an effective NFIP map (FIRM or FHBM), or <br />a photographic copy of it, on which the legal metes and bounds of <br />the property, including each lot within a subdivision. have been <br />drawn as accurately as possible, The map submitted must bear the <br />seal of a licensed land surveyor or registered professional <br />engineer to certify that the property is correctly located on the <br />NFIP map based on the legai description of the properly, If a fiood <br />boundary runs through a lot or tract of property, the location of the <br />structure(s) on the lot or tract should be accurately drawn, A <br />photocopy of the NFIP map is unacceptable because the size of <br />the map may be distorted, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />30 <br />
