WORK done by the CONTRACTOR <br />after his discovery of such discrepancies, inconsistencies or ambiguities shall be done at the <br />CONTRACTOR's risk. <br /> <br /> <br />If work, although not described by the drawings and specifications, appears to be necessary <br />for the successful performance of the CONTRACT and if the necessity for such work can <br />reasonably be implied from the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, the CONTRACTOR shall <br />perform that work as if it were specified. <br /> <br />In case of conflict between the DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS, the SPECIFICATIONS <br />shall govern. Figure dimensions on DRAWINGS shall govern over scale dimensions, and <br />detailed DRAWINGS shall govern over general DRAWINGS, <br /> <br />10.02 SPECIFICATIONS DESIGNATIONS. Whenever reference is made in the CONTRACT <br />DOCUMENTS to standard specifications, methods of testing materials, codes, practices and <br />requirements, it shall be understood that the latest edition or revision in effect as of the date <br />of the bid opening shall govern unless a specific revision is referred to. <br /> <br />10,03 "APPROVED EQUAL" CLAUSE, Whenever a specific material, equipment, process, or <br />product is referred to by a proprietary name, brand name or by the name of its manufacturer, <br />it shall be understood that such designation is further qualified by the phrase "or approved <br />equal", whether or not such phase actually appears with the material, equipment, process or <br />product being specified. Such specification is not intended to limit the material and equipment <br />selection process but rather to indicate a standard of quality and capability which will be <br />acceptable, <br /> <br />10.04 <br /> <br />OWNERSHIP OF DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS. All drawings and specifications <br />are the property of the OWNER but the CONTRACTOR will be permitted to keep a singte <br />copy of each drawing and specification as necessary to maintain a contract record file, <br /> <br />10,05 DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS ISSUED TO THE CONTRACTOR, Upon receiving <br />Notice of Award the CONTRACTOR may request as many additional copies of the <br />DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS as the CONTRACTOR may desire. These will normally <br />be available at the place where the BID DOCUMENTS were issued. The first five sets of <br />these DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS will be issued at no cost to the CONTRACTOR, <br />but the CONTRACTOR must purchase all sets of DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS in <br />excess of five. Whether or not the CONTRACTOR is eligible for a refund of the deposit made <br />for the original BID DOCUMENTS is stated in the advertisement of INVITATION FOR <br />BIDS, and the fact that the Bidder was awarded a CONTRACT does not change those <br />requirements. ' <br /> <br />Of the five sets of DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS issued free to the CONTRACTOR, <br />one set must be maintained in good condition at the work site for the purpose of recording <br />"as-built" conditions as necessary to develop an "As Constructed Record". On this set of <br />DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS, the CONTRACTOR will record all changes and <br />deviations in a neat and legible manner. Any deviation between the DRAWINGS and <br />SPECIFICATIONS and the WORK actually done, no matter how insignificant, must be <br />recorded, Of special concern is that all underground utility structures encountered in the <br />process of doing the WORK be correctly located on the drawings. When the WORK is <br />completed, the CONTRACTOR shall deliver this single set of DRAWINGS and <br />SPECIFICATIONS to the OWNER or the ENGINEER. These drawings must be turned in to <br />the OWNER or the ENGINEER before final payment will be made. <br /> <br />10.06 <br /> <br />SUPPLEMENTARY DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS, DRAWINGS AND <br />SPECIFICATIONS which were provided by the OWNER at the time of bidding will, when <br /> <br />1II-8 <br />(1723 ' 10/93) <br />
