<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br /> <br />703 <br /> <br />GC,g <br /> <br />GC,g <br /> <br />GC,lO <br /> <br />1001 <br /> <br />tests and observe the work to determine whether or not materials used, construction processes <br />and methods applied, and equipment installed satisfy the requirements of the DRAWINGS <br />AND SPECIFICATIONS, supplementary drawings and specifications, and the <br />CONTRACTOR's warranty, The CONTRACTOR shall, therefore, permit these inspectors <br />unlimited access to the work as well as whatever access is needed to off:site facilities used to <br />store or manufacture materials and equipment to be incorporated into the WORK. <br /> <br /> <br />AUTHORITY OF INSPECTORS, Inspectors assigned to the work by the OWNER are <br />authorized to reject any work, any materials, or any component of the work which is not as <br />required by the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. Inspectors are not authorized to change the <br />design or the intent of the PLANS and SPECIFICATIONS, <br /> <br />CONSTRUCTION SURVEYS. Unless otherwise stated in the SPECIAL CONTRACT <br />CONDITIONS, the ENGINEER will locate the work on the construction site by providing all <br />reference points for all horizontal control and all bench marks for all vertical control. These <br />reference points and bench marks are of necessity offset by a predetermined distance and <br />elevation. The CONTRACTOR must, therefore, accurately transfer this survey control <br />infom1ation to the points of application to insure that all elements of the WORK are correctly <br />located. <br /> <br />Requests by the CONTRACTOR for survey reference points and bench marks must be made <br />in sufficient time to permit the ENGINEER to accomplish such surveys on normal working <br />days, <br /> <br />Work which the CONTRACTOR has done, before reference points and bench marks have been <br />provided, may be rejected, Should the original reference points and bench marks which the <br />ENGINEER provided be obliterated or dislodged by operations which the CONTRACTOR <br />controls, the ENGINEER will replace them and charge the CONTRACTOR for the survey. <br />The cost of these resurveys wiIl be detennined by multiplying the hourly equivalent of the <br />salaries and fringe benefits paid to the survey personnel actually involved in the resurvey by <br />the hours expended in doing that resurvey plus material and equipment costs, <br /> <br />LAND AND RIGHTS,OF-W A y, Prior to issuance of Notice to Proceed, the OWNER wiIl <br />obtain all land and rights-of,way necessary for carrying out and for the completion of the <br />WORK to be performed pursuant to the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, unless otherwise stated <br />in the SPECIAL CONTRACT CONDITIONS, <br /> <br />The OWNER will provide to the CONTRACTOR information which delineates and describes <br />the lands owned and rights-of-way acquired. <br /> <br />The CONTRACTOR shall provide at his own expense and without liability to the OWNER or <br />the ENGINEER any additional land and access hereto that the CONTRACTOR may desire for <br />temporary construction facilities, or for storage of materials. <br /> <br />DRAWINGS. SPECIFICATIONS. AND SUBMITTALS, <br /> <br />GENERAL. DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS are integral pans of the CONTRACT. <br />These are intended to provide details adequate to permit full understanding between the <br />CONTRACTOR and the OWNER of work to be performed under the CONTRACT. The <br />DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS are intended to be complimentary and must be interpreted <br />in that sense, <br /> <br />Any discrepancies found between the DRAWINGS and SPECIFICATIONS and site conditions <br />or any inconsistencies or ambiguities in the DRAWINGS or SPECIFIC A TIONS shall be <br />immediately reported to the ENGINEER and/or OWNER in writing, who shall promptly <br /> <br />III-? <br />(1723 - 10/93) <br /> <br />
