.

.

Difficult to scout from your boat or the bank due to the fact that the
chutes are located away from the bank.

The drops are too intimidating to a typical intermediate boater, due to
the wave at the bottom of each drop and the turbulence in each pool.

2. Rescue Capabilities. Difficult for rescue operations due to the
location of the chutes from the river banks.

3. Cost and. Ease of Construction. Relatively low cost due to use of
boulders and the design which fits into the configuration of the dam
face. Major cost savings due to the fact the chutes were constructed
as part of the rock check dams.

4. Appearance. "Wall" rocks along the edge of the chutes is unnatural
appearing and the chutes are linear and uniform.

5. Operation and Maintenance. Debris tends to flow through the chutes,
they should be better able to accommodate larger logs.

6. Stability. Very stable, large stone grouted into place is solid.

other
Fish migration is easy due to the series of small drops and pools.

No portage trails, landings or signage have been constructed.

Large rOWlded grouted rock is good for the chute, but was not needed as
high along the edge of the chutes.

Use of deflectors would help.

P'VQf;::k: [,... ...........: '.'
, .JltL~'~~~~~~'~~~ ~
