<br />Jr <br /> <br />- - .. <br /> <br />-...... <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />The watering of grass, lawn., <br />open ground crops and trees, <br />irrigation, in a manner or to <br />excess water to run to waste. <br /> <br />groundcover, shrubbery, <br />including agricultural <br />an extent which allows <br /> <br />C. The escape of water through leaks, breaks, or malfunc- <br />tion within the water user's plumbing or distribution <br />system for any period of time within which such break or <br />leak should reasonably have been discovered and cor- <br />rected. It shall be presumed that a period of twenty- <br />four hours after the water user discovers such break, <br />leak, or malfunction, or receives notice from the City <br />of such condition, whichever occurs first, is a reason- <br />able time within which to correct such condition or to <br />make arrangements for correction. <br /> <br />D. Disconnection. Any person in violation of the pro- <br />visions of Section 3 who fails to take corrective action after the <br />first notification of the violation shall be subject to disconnec- <br />tion of water service. Upon disconnection of water service, a <br />written notice shall be served upon the violator, or conspicuously <br />posted at the entrance to the violator's premises, and shall state <br />the time, place, and general description of the violation and the <br />method by which reconnection can be accomplished. <br /> <br />Section 5. Reconnection. Where wa ter service is disconnected <br />as authorized above, it shall be immediately reconnected upon <br />correction of the condition or activity and the payment of the <br />reconnection charge in an amount specified by Resolution of the <br />Ci ty Counci 1. <br /> <br />Section 6. Appeal. Any person who feels that the activity or <br />condition which r~sulted 1n the disconnection of water service <br />pursuant to this Ordinance did not constitute a violation of this <br />Ordinance may appeal the disconnection to the City Council in the <br />manner specified in Chapter 1.16 of the Santa Cruz Municipal Code. <br />If the Ci ty Council finds tha t the acti vi ty or conduct did not <br />constitute a violation of this Ordinance, the reconnection charge <br />will be refunded. <br /> <br />j <br /> <br />-15- <br />
