<br />EXHIBIT "A-I" <br /> <br />PART III. DIVISION 7 <br /> <br />471.7 WATER CONSERVATION. No Rooming House Permit shall <br />be issued or renewed for any res idence un ti 1 all <br />plumbing fixtures on the property meet the standards for water <br />conservation as liste~ in Sections 1143.1(a), (c), and (g). <br /> <br />PART VIII. ARTICLE 3 <br /> <br />1143.1 USES CONSTITUTING WASTE. The following uses of <br />water or installations of water using equipment are <br />hereby determined to constitute a waste of water and are' hereby <br />prohibited, except as otherwise authorized: <br /> <br />a. In newly constructed, substantially reconstructed or remodel- <br />ed residential, commercial, industrial or public buildings, <br />the installation or continued use of any toilet that uses in <br />excess of 3.5 gallons of water per flush, or the installation <br />or continued use of a shower head that uses in excess of 3 <br />gallons per minute at greater than 40 pounds per square inch, <br />or the installation or continued use of a sink, lavatory, or <br />other inside faucet that uses in excess of 2 gallons per <br />minute. In meeting these standards, flow restrictors, or <br />similar retrofit devices on existing equipment will be ac- <br />cepted for rooms of the structure not being improved. Flow <br />restrictors need not be applied to plumbing fixtures serving <br />appliances, other than toilets, which consume fixed quanti- <br />ties of water when it can be demonstrated that no water <br />savings would be achieved. <br /> <br />b. In newly constructed or reconstructed commercial, industrial, <br />or public buildings, the installation in any restroom or <br />bathroom of any faucet other than a metering faucet. <br /> <br />c. The use of any ornamental fountain, permanent swimming or <br />wading pool, or hot tub, or other structure making similar <br />use of water except when a recirculating system is employed <br />and when a cover suitable for covering the entire surface of <br />any such swimming or wading pool is also employed. <br /> <br />d. The opera tion of any water-cooled comfort ai r condi tion <br />equipment which does not have water conserving equipment. <br /> <br />e. In newly constructed or reconstructed residential, commer- <br />cial, industrial, or public buildings, the installation of <br />water pipes without valves to reduce the water pressure to 50 <br />or less pounds of pressure per square inch. <br /> <br />f. In newly constructed or reconstructed residential, commer- <br />cial, industrial, or public buildings, the installation of <br />hot water pipes unless the same shall be insulated. <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br />~ '/ !:' f,J 3 <br /> <br />--. <br />
