In 1966 or 1967, on SJCD (South) near Platte Canyon Road, an area several <br />hundred feet wide was under 2-3 feet of water near the 7-11 site. At that time only <br />Columbine Hills was developed. Platte Canyon Road was observed to have acted as a <br />dam. The citizen who reported this information was concerned about future flooding due <br />to the facts that the culvert under Platte Canyon Road is in poor condition, the area is <br />flat, and there has been much more development. <br /> <br />Sponsor and Consultant Staff Present: <br /> <br />9. Who is responsible for cleaning out the wetlands in the golf course and maintaining <br />the culverts under South Oak Street and West Rockland Drive? Large <br />prints of Figures B-2 though B-15 of the Draft Phase A Report showing proposed <br />alternatives for both the overall study area and the Meadow Ranch area were <br />posted on the walls. The Draft Phase A Report and site photographs were also <br />available, <br /> <br />11. It was commented that houses are being built on North Tributary Massey Draw just <br />west of Carr Street. Paula Lundquist noted that the property is being developed such <br />that houses are being built outside of the drainageway area. <br /> <br />Items Distributed: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />12. It was reported that there is a lot of vegetation in the channel on Massey Draw from <br />Garrison to Carr. Whose responsibility is it to clean out the vegetation? The property is <br />owned by Foothills Park and Recreation District. David noted that cleaning out the <br />channel could be a potential master plan alternative. Ben commented that there is often <br />citizen resistance to removing trees. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />A public meeting was held at the Falcon Bluffs Middle School on October 19, 2004 to present <br />the major drainageway planning study for the Massey Draw and SJCD (South) watershed being <br />conducted by the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, Jefferson County and City of <br />Littleton. The project consultant is Olsson Associates. More than 50 individuals attended this <br />meeting (47 signed the attached sign-in sheets). <br /> <br />The meeting began at approximately 7:10 pm. Ben Urbonas made introductions and provided <br />an overview of the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District and the major drainageway <br />
