Ben noted that it is
desirable to start most improvements, other than detention, at the downstream end of
the drainageway.

16, What is the work occurring on the southeast side of Platte Canyon Road? Bob
Deeds described the future water supply reservoir that is being constructed at the site by
the Centennial Water and Sanitation District. A channel is currently under construction
and will carry the probable maximum flood from SJCD around the reservoir. The
reservoir will be filled with water drawn from the South Platte River and the water level in
the reservoir will fluctuate.

John Liou
Rick McLoud via e-mail
Larry Mugler via e-mail
Jason Murphy via e-mail
Chris Plant via e-mail
Gene Reetz
Rick Schultz via e-mail
Sean Warren via e-mail
Justin Werdel via e-mail
Kent Wiley
Paul Winkle
Meeting attendees on sign-in sheet via mail

17. Ben briefly explained the nomenclature of flooding events. For example, a 10-year
flood event is one that over a long period of time tends to happen once every ten years.
It does not mean that it actually happens only once every ten years. He also explained
that the 1 OO-year flood event in this area of Jefferson County is predicted to result from a
rainfall event in excess of three inches in two hours over the entire watershed, not just
parts of the watershed.

18, Requests were made to have a list of contact information for county officials, etc. at
the next public meeting and to put information regarding the project on a website. Ben
said he will consider this and other options to inform and update those attending about
this project, Everyone on the full mailing list will be notified of the next public meeting
that should take place around March, April or May of 2005,

19. Many comments were made and questions were raised regarding the flooding that
occurred in the Meadows Ranch area in June 2004. Ben explained the master planning
process in relation to potential improvements, The master plan must be approved and
adopted by the county. The county then prioritizes projects and can request that
particular projects be placed on UDFCD's 5-year capital improvements plan. He noted
that it was unlikely that improvements could be started in 2005. Ben and Paula
encouraged the citizens to talk to their elected officials, particularly the county
commissioners, and Jefferson County staff, such as the head of the Public Works
Department about their concerns, They noted that citizen voices have greater weight
than those of the staff,

In response to requests during and after the meeting for contact information of Jefferson County
officials, following is the Jefferson County website, in which this information can be found:
www.co.iefferson.cQ.us.

cc: Named attendees via e-mail
Tim Carey via e-mail
Melissa Chew via e-mail
Kathy Christensen via e-mail
Alecia Cope via e-mail
Russ Clayshulte via e-mail
Paul Duncan via e-mail
Scott Franklin via e-mail
Bill Kieck via e-mail
Larry Lang via e-mail
