<br />Comments: <br /> <br />A. Arkansas' estimate is based upon averages of construction costs. <br /> <br />B. Connecticut's reported range is for dams investigated under the Corps <br />Inspection program with attendant standards, particularly for <br />spillways. <br /> <br />C. Georgia's estimate includes both completed work and proposed remedial <br />work. <br /> <br />D. Idaho estimates that $40 million on rehabilitation work is required to <br />repair and/or replace spillways, to improve outlets, and to ensure <br />structural stability. An additional $1 million is required for <br />seismic studies, hydrologic analyses, and flood routing to identify <br />risk areas. <br /> <br />E. Kansas indicates, <br />represents needed <br />integrity. <br /> <br />that with a few exceptions, this cost figure <br />renovation work to restore structures to original <br /> <br />F. Louisiana notes that there are "no unsafe dams in Louisiana". <br /> <br />G. Maryland's estimate is based on one dam remaining from the Corps Phase <br />I Inspection Program. <br /> <br />H. Massachusetts' $6.25 million is based on 50 unsafe dams at $125,000 <br />per dam. <br /> <br />1. Missouri's figure represents cost data for modifications to existing <br />dams for 1983-85. <br /> <br />J. Montana's estimate is based on $3.5 million for rehabilitation of <br />state-owned dams, with one dam estimated at $150 million. <br /> <br />K. Nebraska reports this range to represent actual repair costs. <br /> <br />L. New Mexico's estimate is based on two dams, Santa Cruz and Costilla, <br />which will be repaired beginning with design plans and specifications <br />this Fiscal year ending June 30, 1986. <br /> <br />M. New York's estimate represents the repair cost of unsafe dams for both <br />programs. <br /> <br />N. North Carolina's figure is a very rough estimate. <br /> <br />O. North Dakota's estimate is based on five unsaf'e high hazard dams. An <br />additional $3.13 million is needed for eight additional "Low PMF and <br />Significant Hazard Dams." <br /> <br />P. Oklahoma's estimate is based on 95 unsafe dams at an average estimated <br />cost of $300,000. <br /> <br />Q. Oregon's figure is based on a "guess". <br /> <br />-29- <br />
