<br />K. Missouri notes that the FY 86 budget would provide for two additional <br />FTE's, over the FY 85 figure, f'or a total of six. <br /> <br />L. Montana reports that this FY 86 (starting October 1, 1985) includes <br />0.5 FTE for the new dam safety act and 7.0 FTE for state-owned dam <br />rehabilitation. The FY 87 budget would provide for 3.0 FTE for the <br />new Dam Safety Act and 7.0 FTE for continued state-owned dam <br />rehabilitation, or 10 FTE total. <br /> <br />M. Nebraska's 3.5 FTE's include two engineers and three part-time <br />technicians. <br /> <br />N. New Jersey's figure includes one full-time engineer. <br /> <br />O. North Carolina reports that it has about 50 people "cross-trained" to <br />carry out its dam safety, mlnl.ng, and sediment control laws. Dam <br />Safety accounts for 11.0 FTE's. <br /> <br />P. North Dakota's figure includes one full-time engineer, one full-time <br />technician, and shared use of one secretary. <br /> <br />Q. Ohio's personnel includes nine P.E.'s, six E.I.T.'s, one technician, <br />one secretary, and two college interns. <br /> <br />R. Oregon notes that an additional FTE is authorized, but without <br />funding. <br /> <br />S. Rhode Island's 1.25 FTE's include one full-time principal engineering <br />technician and one registered prof'essional engineer who spends one- <br />f'ourth of his available man-hours on dam section responsibilities. <br /> <br />~ <br />j <br />I <br /> <br />T. Pennsylvania indicates that their "seasonal adjustments" provide two <br />additional FTE's in some years. <br /> <br />U. South Carolina reports that this figure includes a half-time secretary <br />who was not counted in the last survey. <br /> <br />V. Washington's figure includes five engineers, one temporary technician, <br />and one clerical staff member. <br /> <br />W. wyoming reports that there are 50 people part-time on dam inspections, <br />who represent about 20 FTE's. <br /> <br />4.
