<br />K. Louisiana's emergency action preparedness plans will only be required <br />for those dams where there is a potential for loss of life. <br /> <br />L. Maine reports this function could be part of regulations for the <br />larger dams. <br /> <br />M. Maryland had developed proposed regulations for new dams; has been <br />developing emergency action plans without statutory authority with <br />state Civil Defense and Class I dam owners. <br /> <br />N. Minnesota requires this only for High Hazard dams and some Significant <br />Hazard dams. <br /> <br />O. Mississippi requires this only for certain High Hazard dams. <br /> <br />P. Missouri reports that maintenance and operations plan required by <br />rules and regulations includes an emergency action plan. <br /> <br />Q. Montana requires this as part of the operating permit. <br /> <br />R. Nebraska requires this for all High Hazard and certain specified <br />Significant Hazard dams. <br /> <br />S. New Mexico's Civil Emergency Preparedness Division is responsible for <br />these plans. <br /> <br />~ <br />I <br />I <br />~ <br /> <br />T. New York requires an Emergency Action plan for High Hazard dams. <br /> <br />U. North Carolina reports this function as under board authority of their <br />Dam Safety Law (not specifically mentioned) and they require such <br />plans on selected High Hazard dams. <br /> <br />V. North Dakota reports as per Guidelines Manual. <br /> <br />W. Oklahoma reports that this is required by regulations. <br /> <br />X. Washington reports no specific authority but plans are being requested <br />for High and Significant Hazard dams under general safety authority. <br /> <br />Y. Wisconsin has just passed a rule which will require all dams to have a <br />plan in twenty years. <br /> <br />Z. West Virginia's Section 10 of its statute is the basis for regulation <br />requirements of a monitoring and evacuation plan. <br /> <br />AA.Wyoming is working with Disaster and Civil Defense Office. Now has a <br />Model Manual for owners to follow. <br /> <br />2.
