<br />3. SCOPE OF BASIC DESIGN SERVICES <br /> <br />MEC shall provide oasic engineering design services for the levee <br />improvements identified in the paragraph above, AREA. The basic design <br />engineering design services, including drawings and specifications, <br />shall be complete in te'chnical sufficiency and detail so that a <br />contract for cons~ruct;on may be awarded with no substantial changes or <br />del a'y S . The bas ice ng i nee r i n 9 des i 9 n s e r vie e s s h all i n c 1 u d e the <br />following work items: <br /> <br />A. MEC shall provide to ENTITIES a project cchedule for this proJect. <br />B. flEC Shall meet with the ENTITIES at agreeable times during the <br />project, to review services provided, acquire project information <br />and review project status, findings and designs. Six meetings are <br />anticipated to be required, as follows: <br />1. The first meeting will be a reconnaissance meeting at the pro- <br />ject site to obtain project data and review the work to be com- <br />pleted with the ENTITIES, Soils Engineer, Surveyor and Arborist. <br />2. The second meeting will be during the preliminary design phase <br />to review concepts of the Phase II levee i~provements regarding <br />the status of the existing trees, construction materials and <br />typical levee sections. This meeting will be with <br />representatives of ENTITIES. <br />3. The third meeting will be an evening public meeting, arranged by <br />the City and County and on the same date as the second meeting. <br />This meeting will present concepts developed by MEC and will <br />solicit comments of the public. <br />4. The fourth meeting wi I be with ENTITY representatives to review <br />the preliminary design. <br />5. The fith meet.ing will be with ENTITY representatives to review <br />the final construction plans in the office and in the field. <br />6.
