The land treatment measures for watershed protection itemized in Table 1 will be established on the land by farmers and ranchers in cooperation with the Cherry Creek Soil Conservation District. The cost of applying these measures will be borne by the owners and and operators of the land, It is expected that operators will be reimbursed for a portion of this cost through the agricultural conservation and other Federal programs, Technical assistance will be provided by the Soil Conservation Service through the Cherry Creek Soil Conservation District for the acceleration of the needed land treatment program. This is in addition to technical assistance available for the planning and application of land treatment measures under current programs, Public Law 566 funds for technical assistance will be made available to the Colorado State Forest Service through the U. S, Forest Service for accelerating hydrologic stand improvement on private forest and brush lands, L , Land Treatment Measures for Flood Prevention ~ I ~ ~ The land treatment measures primarily for flood prevention on private forest, brush, and grazing lands will be planned and administered by the Colorado State Forest Service through the U, S. Forest Service and will consist primarily of providing facilities and equipment for fire protection and control. Limited funds are available under other authority for carrying out current programs involving land treatment measures for flood prevention on such lands. Public Law 566 funds will be used for purchase of needed additional facilities and equipment on a cost-sharing basis (Table 1). I Structural lleasures for Flood Prevention f" All structural measures will be installed by contract let by the Cherry Creek Soil Conservation District. Construction of the structural measures wil1 be started when Federal funds are available and the sponsors have: (1) obtained and recorded necessary land easements or deeds; (2) obtained agreements to carry out recommended soil conservation measures and proper farm plans from owners of not less than 50 per cent of the lands situated in the drainage area above each structure; (3) obtained assurance that not less than
