This is in addition to technical assistance <br />available for the planning and application of land treatment measures <br />under current programs, Public Law 566 funds for technical assistance <br />will be made available to the Colorado State Forest Service through <br />the U. S, Forest Service for accelerating hydrologic stand improvement <br />on private forest and brush lands, <br /> <br />L <br />, <br /> <br />Land Treatment Measures for Flood Prevention <br /> <br />~ <br />I <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />The land treatment measures primarily for flood prevention on <br />private forest, brush, and grazing lands will be planned and <br />administered by the Colorado State Forest Service through the U, S. <br />Forest Service and will consist primarily of providing facilities and <br />equipment for fire protection and control. Limited funds are available <br />under other authority for carrying out current programs involving land <br />treatment measures for flood prevention on such lands. Public Law 566 <br />funds will be used for purchase of needed additional facilities and <br />equipment on a cost-sharing basis (Table 1). <br /> <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Structural lleasures for Flood Prevention <br /> <br />f" <br /> <br />All structural measures will be installed by contract let by <br />the Cherry Creek Soil Conservation District. Construction of the <br />structural measures wil1 be started when Federal funds are available <br />and the sponsors have: (1) obtained and recorded necessary land <br />easements or deeds; (2) obtained agreements to carry out recommended <br />soil conservation measures and proper farm plans from owners of not <br />less than 50 per cent of the lands situated in the drainage area <br />above each structure; (3) obtained assurance that not less than <br />
