FEMA currently has a map <br />modernization initiative before Congress for approval and funding <br />for new floodplain mapping, nationwide. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: Support digitization and update of floodplain maps statewide every <br />three years. Coordinate this effort with FEMA's proposed map <br />modernization program. Encourage use of maps in future land use <br />planning and developmenl review. <br /> <br />LEAD AGENCY: Colorado Water Conservation Board <br /> <br />PARTNER AGENCIES: Colorado Counties Incorporated <br />Colorado Municipal League <br />Colorado Department of Local Affairs <br />Colorado Office of Emergency Management <br /> <br />TIME FRAME: Normal maintenance schedule.
