<br /> <br />Stale of Colorado 1276-DR-CO <br />Interagency Hazard Mitigation Team Report <br /> <br />July 1999 <br /> <br />ISSUE: Historic structures <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: Structures in historic districts such as Manitou Springs, <br />realistically have no place to physically relocate, so alternatives to <br />demolition/relocation for damaged structures should be explored. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: When rehabilitating structures in historic districts, consider <br />floodproofing, elevation, and!or channelization following <br />Secretary ofInterior Rehabilitation Standards. <br /> <br />LEAD AGENCY: Federal agencies involved with either project funding involving <br />historic slructures, or permitting <br /> <br />PARTNER AGENCY: Colorado Natural Hazards Mitigation Council, State Historic <br />Preservation Officer, Department of Local Affairs, and Entitlement <br />Cities & Counties <br /> <br />TIME FRAME: Contact State Historic Preservation Officer al earliest stage of <br />project planning <br /> <br />FUNDING: State Historical Fund can be used for designated properties for <br />rehabilitation, building assessments, emergency stabilization, and! <br />or surveys for designated properties.
