The l'iaterway under the aqueduct is adequatf:' Lo p8.SS the lOO-year fJood.

Near Station 921+00 it appears that in t~lle ")ast an old irrigation canal

cros:~ed First Creek. However, all stru(:t~ures u~;ed in this crossing, if

any, have beell washed away. Water from }'irst CJ-eek for the lOa-year

flool) will n01~ be carried away by the carLal under existing conditions at

the ]Joint of intersection.

Drainage\{ay improvemen,ts recommended fo r th is reach are limited to
Flood Plain Zoning.

?iccadilly'~oad to _ 26.!:I1A',','=.'1l1E-'::.J)r:,,,~I~g:; 2().L~l..~!1.<!...~?

The reach extends from Station 9"1+;:5'0 Station 1,039+60. First
Creel< in this reach and approximately up tu Station 1,026+00, flows in a
well defined channel and the 100-year fl(,od plain is not wide. Immed-
iate:ly downst~ream from 26th Avenue the creek is less defined and runs
through a flat wide area resulting in a ,'ide 100--year flood plain. It
is recommended that Flood Plain Zoning be' adopted for the enti.re reach.

It is not: proposed to provide any st.ru(:tura:1 improvements to the

exisl~ing cros~;ings. Exist:ing roadway bridgl~ at Piccadilly Road crossing

is adequate to pass the 10-year flood flow; however, the lOO-year flood

f Low will overtop the bridge. The freqUEnc:1 of overtopping the bridge,

and !lossible elamages to the bridge, do ne,t .iusti,fy major structural

changes.

~~.!:l1... The devel:)pmeILL in this area lS net consid-
erab:_e and hence no channelization has bEen recommended. It is recom-
mend{~d that fl.ood plain zoning lle adopted f(lr thE~ entire reach.

No structural improvements are propcsecl for" the 26th Avenue cros-

sing. the Union Pacific Ra:._lroad cross ing) :;mitb Road crossing and the

Gun C:lub Road crossing. The existing ~ridgE~ at the Union Pacific Rail-

road crossing is adequat.e to pass t~e 10e-year flood flow, while the re-

mainjng ~hree road crossings in this reach ~lj,J.l tle overtopped when a

LOO-year flood occurs.

lI:;~-'9
