Soils in this reach have

a high susceptability to erosion because of t:he sandy nature of the mat-

erials. Mobile Park development immediately east of Buckley Road has

already started. Portions of this develJpment, adjacent to South bank

of First Creek is within the 100-year flood plain. A low earth dyke

extending from Buckley Road to Station 660+80 is proposed to protect

this area from flooding. The only imprO\lel11ent suggested in this reach

is the construction of a new bridgE' for 3uckley Road.

~~.kley Road Brid~

The Buckley Road bridge at Sta~ion 6~5+00 has at present two
small. openings. A new bridge at the ~;itr~ ha~ been proposed to pass the
100-year flow without overtopping. The bridge will have three spans
each of 35.0' with 6.0' as the height of openings. The existillg gas
line under the bridge will have to be relocated.

56th Avenue t:<>_}'o""LJloadn:__Dra"i_~_-'!(j

The reach extends from Station 694+fiO Lc Station 716~'50. 80iJ_5 in

this reach are highly susceptable to ero:;j!)o. ]~irst Creek mean(lerj_ng

has:aused severe erosion of the South bank of I:he 'i6th Avenue embank-

ment which w1.11 need protection. No channelization or structural

improvements are proposed in this reach, ! l is recommended that Flood

Plain Zoning be adopted for the ent.ire reac~.

Tower Road to Pi cadil !_~_Ro,,-,I_=_I:J!a\"1I1Jl3 _1~,_l,ZL!~Ll.-9 and__2,S)

First Creek channel in t.his reach e}~teJlding from Stat, ion 716+50 to

Station 941+25 has a flat slope. The flood plain is fairly wide with

the I:hannel meandering and causing erosion, The widest lOO-year flood

plaill in the I~irst Creek basin occurs in thl~ vic::inity of the First

Creek confluence with Tributary T.
